The concept of Low Energy Neurofeedback (which is a completely unique form of “brain optimization”) was first introduced by Len Ochs in 1990.
Since then, our clients have reported many forms of success using our unique and effective form of neuro-therapy. Results can be seen quickly, often beginning within the first session, and are lasting.
Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback, because it is based on electrical brain activity, the electroencephalogram, or EEG. Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. Self-regulation is a necessary part of optimal brain performance and function. Self-regulation training allows the nervous system to function better.
It may be utilized as the primary modality, or as an adjunct to other therapies.
What makes LENS different from other forms of neurofeedback? Each client’s EEG signals are unique to them and constantly changing. The LENS measures these ever-changing signals of the client and matches the feedback to the client’s own physiological (neurological) fingerprint.
What is LENS and what can it do?
What conditions does the LENS help with?
Anxiety
Mood – Anger, sadness, explosiveness
Sleep Issues
Concussion
Grief
Migraines
PTSD
Stroke Recovery
Motivation – Problems initiating tasks, shifting from one activity to another, and/or completing tasks.
Focus – Problems sequencing, memory, providing and maintaining attention, concentration, clarity and organization.
Addictions/Dependencies
Fatigue
Performance Optimization
The LENS also works well with the symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury, no matter how long ago the incident occurred. The trauma can be from a physical blow, a concussive injury, a psychological incident (PTSD), or any other incident(s) which results in a decrease in cognitive ability.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The success rate is remarkable. Over 85% of clients benefit significantly, often noticing rapid improvement! Once a full course of treatments (usually 10-20 sessions) is completed, for most people treatment is done. And the changes are enduring. There is no need to receive LENS on an ongoing basis.
-
On occasion, some patients experience very transient (lasting only a few hours) side-effects such as feeling wired, tired, spacey, or have a mild headache. We consider these side-effects as a positive response, as an indication that the patient’s brain is interacting with the LENS. This is usually a good prognostic indicator.
-
No, only stuck brainwave patterns are affected.
-
No. Medication does not diminish the effectiveness of LENS. There is no need to stop or reduce your medication, which should only be done in conjunction with your healthcare provider.
